patient care is our primary concern and we ask that you follow speciffc visiting hours and regulations established for each unit to maintain the quality of care.

  • All visitors must provide a valid form of picture identification at the security desk at the main entrance.
  • All visitors going to patients' rooms must be at least 14 years of age.
  • No more than two visitors should be in the patient's room at one time. Visitors to semi-private rooms should be considerate of both patients.
  • People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
  • Visits should be kept short and to maintain a quiet environment, visitors should avoid creating unnecessary noise.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient. Liberal visiting arrangements may be made for families or friends of surgical patients on the day of surgery.
  • Visitors should ask before giving gifts of food or beverages since many patients have special or restricted diets.
  • Plants and flowers are not permitted in the critical care units.

Critical Care

Visiting hours are:
11:00am – 8:00pm Every 2 hours for 30 minutes
11:00am – 11:30am
1:30pm – 2:00pm
3:30pm – 4:00pm
5:30pm – 6:00pm
7:30pm – 8:00pm

Only two (2) visitors at a time are permitted

Behavioral Health

Visiting hours are:
Sunday – Saturday 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Mother/Baby Unit

The Mother/Baby unit is a secure area and the admission of visitors is coordinated with the staff caring for your loved one. Visiting hours are:

Sunday – Saturday 11:00am – 8:00pm*
*No children under the age of 14 are permitted unless otherwise specified

Siblings may visit between the hours of 1:00pm – 8:00pm and must be accompanied by an adult. The support person that is chosen by the mother must wear an ID band. The ID band is not transferable to another person. The support person must be in the unit by 8:00pm in order to spend the night.


ATM machines are located on the first (1st) floor to left of the security desk and on the second (2nd) floor in the cafeteria


Vending machines are located in the Cafeteria on the second (2nd) floor and in the Emergency Room waiting area.

Smoking: Tobacco-Free Campus

To promote the health and safety of patients, staff and visitors, United Medical Center is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the hospital or on the grounds.
