Welcome to the Patient Care Services’ division website!

maribel torresThis is indeed a special time in healthcare – both with its many challenges in providing care to an aging population, increased complexity in patient needs, conditions and ensuring an adequate, well-educated workforce to provide the  most advanced, evidenced-based care available. With those challenges, however, comes an exciting and rewarding opportunity to influence and be part of the biggest change to our healthcare system in history.

I believe nurses stand at the forefront of this change and now, more than ever, have an opportunity to lead and influence care delivery at all levelsAt UMC, our team of over 300 registered nurses, technicians and support associates not only improve the lives of our patients and their families through quality, compassionate and patient-centered care, but also are actively invested in health and well being of the community in which we are called to serve.  Additionally, our associates have direct impact on decision making through representation on various shared-governance committees and practice councils.

I am grateful and proud  of every nursing professional at UMC for the expertise and compassion that they share with our patients, families, and colleagues each and every day.  To our existing nursing associates, thank you for serving our patients and community.  And, if you’re looking for a new opportunity to join a team of dedicated caregivers, I hope that you’ll consider joining us.

And finally and most importantly, to our patients and family members, please know that is our privilege to serve you.
